    If individual residents have to endure the challenges of following strict HOA policies, so should local developers.

    The folks at this investment firm thought they could get away with bypassing the rules that new houses needed to be 20 feet apart. That's a pretty significant rule to ignore, especially since residents in the local community were already up in arms about the fact that their board president was fining everyone left and right.

    Of course, when corporations are involved, there is the cynical belief that they will inevitably get some kind of special dispensation, but when it came to this HOA president, nothing was going to stop him from fining anyone.
