Golden Children get whatever they want from their parents. In the case of this 32-year-old woman, who was literally born to be a buffer body for her terminally ill older brother, her parents decided even before she was born that she would become a second-rate child. The Golden Child, however, her older brother with brain cancer, grew to understand that everyone in his life and in his family would bend over backwards and sacrifice life and limb for him. Not only that, but he was privy to every new gaming console, breaks from school, and whatever else he wanted from the family. How do you think that made him turn out?
Obviously, after that kind of spoiled childhood, the older brother became an awful and entitled person. After being declared miraculously cancer-free at 14 years old, he began to terrorize his younger sister, whose transfusions and bone marrow transplants saved his life.
Sometimes siblings have good reason to cut off their family members. For the sake of their own well-being, likely in the mental health department, sidelined children grow into adults with a chip on their shoulder, especially for the family members who left them by the wayside. In truth, she made a good decision by moving far, far away from her manipulative parents, because when her older brother's frivolous lifestyle caught up with him and he needed a kidney, she was removed enough to completely refuse, forcing them to deal with the consequences of their traumatizing parenting style.
