In this story, a young woman found herself in a disagreement with her mom and stepdad after they expected her to take on all the childcare for her two younger siblings while they went away on a 4 day honeymoon. The mom reasoned that after the wedding, vacation, and taking out a loan to buy land, their budget would not stretch to getting a paid babysitter.
However, the 17-year-old was adamant that she couldn't take on the responsibility full-time as she was a medical student at university, and had a lot of classes each day that she didn't want to miss. Many thought she was being selfish, and she wanted to validate her point of view.
