Entitled customers try to give busy jazz bar server sass because they "know the band," little do they know she knows them better: ‘They even performed at my wedding…’

A gaggle of entitled customers walked into a busy jazz bar on a Friday night and expected top tier treatment because they vaguely knew some of the people in the band. They started treating their server like she was the worst, little did they know that she is not only one of the most beloved servers in the establishment, she also is very close with the band. Luckily, she was able to humble them and walk away with a big smile on her face. 

It doesn't matter if you know the owner, the band playing, or the bartender, you are never entitled to special treatment. If you get special treatment, it's more likely because you have shown great respect and kindness. If you walk in and expect free drinks because you're roommates with the bartender, well, then you're about to get your friend fired either from that establishment or from your life. As someone who has bartended, when someone I know walks in expecting free drinks, I make sure to charge them. If someone walks in and is extremely kind and lifts my spirits during a hectic shift, then those drinks are on me, bestie.
