Work-from-home neighbor feels the family beyond the wall doesn't care about their dog's separation anxiety, leaving him barking for hours: 'They haven't done anything to change the situation'

We don't think we can make it clearer that we love dogs in here. We feel like it's important to say that, because we have to admit - not all things dogs do are 100% amazing. And that's okay to admit. We all do things that are not exactly perfect, and dogs are no different when it comes to this. Because dogs are complex creatures, with feelings and consciousness, and the good comes with the bad (even though they sure are good boys and girls almost all of the time).

With all that being said, when a doggo doesn't behave correctly, it's mostly not their fault. Dogs need guidance and support from their family, their beloved hoomans. And the people who adopt dogs but don't step up for the occasion are (how will we say it gently?) not deserving of their delightful doggo.

Take this one case, for example: A work-from-home person complains of the neighbor's dog, because he doesn't stop barking for hours during the day. The person isn't mad about the dog, even though a situation like that is maddening. But he has all the right to be mad at the pawrents - if your dog has such severe separation anxiety and you don't do anything about it, it's 100% on you.

Just as no person should hear a dog screaming all day long, no dog deserves to live like this - anxious, sad, untreated. When people adopt a dog into their family, they need to live and breathe the responsibility. That's another life you took in - act like it.
