Zooming around the house when we get home from a long day at the office, snuggling into our necks as we watch our favorite show, or sneaking under the covers in the winter chill despite knowing they're not allowed on the bed, animal innocence is really what uplifts our spirits and sends our souls soaring. Right now, I'm fighting the worst cold of my life and the week has been pretty brutal, but my beloved, high-energy doggo, who hasn't been on a decent walk in days, has been mellow and resting by my side the whole time, waiting for me to have the strength to play, but patiently doting on me with cuddles and slobbery kisses until I get there.
Animals know when we're sad, sick, or feeling down. Running, galloping, or slithering in our direction, the animals we love and cherish know in their bones that the best way to help the hoomans in their life is to make them feel the endless affections of animal love. Whether you have cows, birds, fish, horses, lizards, dogs, cats, or any other kind of critter, you know that our pets somehow give us a serotonin boost every day. Pets just get it.
And when the winter winds pick up, the days grow shorter, and the chill sets in, it's our furry, feathered, and scaly friends who are always there to help get us through it all.
