Everyone wants to be a good pet owner, the kind who would do anything for their pet, even if it means paying thousands of dollars to the vet.
Obviously, no one wants to be in a situation where their pet requires a super expensive visit to the vet, but we all know that life is unexpected, and sometimes that happens. We also know that not everyone can afford to pay for unexpected medical emergencies. Which leads to the question, what happens next?
The dog owner in the story below was lucky enough to have a great friend who paid for his dog's surgery when he could not afford to. The friend, however, wanted to stay anonymous and did not tell the owner she was the one behind the generous donation. Still, she did not expect her boyfriend to take the credit instead, and was hurt by his blatant lie to their mutual friend.
Years later, after she broke up with said boyfriend, the dog owner and the generous friend met again, and this time, she seriously considered coming clean and telling the owner she was the one who paid for his dog's surgery.
Should she do it?
