If you met Galadriel, the Lady of Light and ethereal ruler of the elves of Lothlórien, what would she see in your future? For most LOTR fans, she'd see another round of movie marathons, collector purchases, and another pair of Middle Earth pajama pants.
Although we may not be as tough as Gimli, as wise as Gandalf, as graceful as Legolas, or as heroic as Aragorn, inside all of us, there's a tiny LOTR hero. Likely in the shape of a well-fed hobbit, most of us out here in the real world dream of a stroll in the Shire, a Sunday brunch in Bree, or a crisp spring breeze over the hills of Hobbiton. While we are a soft folk, hobbit-like people yearn for adventure in the same way Evard Proudfoot, the grumpiest and oldest of hobbits, dreams of his next birthday feast.
Soft as we may be, we are not tender of foot or quivering in our spirit, for hobbit folk are stronger and hardier than the cheeses on their plate and more willing to take on impossible tasks to defeat evil than any other race. Perhaps it's the kindheartedness or the stubborn nature of the hobbit, but they were perfectly built to simply walk into Mordor.
