Entitled 56-year-old YouTuber Dad films "emotional" video at 22-year-old daughter's college graduation, daughter ruins video: 'My graduation is making him ad revenue'

This YouTuber Dad made a glowing video about his daughter's graduation, and commenters keep calling him a great dad… but it's too bad his actual daughter doesn't feel that way! 

Since camcorders were invented, proud parents have been filming entire graduation ceremonies, hearts swelling with pride. Parents used to sit in the bleachers and film a 2-hour graduation, just to finally leap out of their seats and cheer as their kid walked across that stage and received their diploma. There was something so wholesome about that — these long videos were created to play on the living room TV next time distant relatives visited. Parents did that because they were so very proud of their kiddos — they never intended to edit the video, add music, add captions, and post it to the internet to be viewed by thousands or even millions. That's the difference between regular videoing and family vlogging. And just to provide a good example of what family vlogging actually like for family members, let's talk about this woman's dad. 

Family vlogging can be quite disruptive to the actual family members of the vlogger. Imagine you're just living your normal life, and suddenly your parent walks in the room narrating their day, filming you without your permission. Then later, they edit that footage and upload it to YouTube, where suddenly, literally anyone can view you, comment about you, and speculate about your family's life. It's pretty bizarre when you break it down like that, isn't it? Why would someone subject their family members to a lack of privacy just for internet points (or money, in some cases)?

This woman just had her graduation disrupted by her vlogger Dad, who pulled up to the function with a full camera crew! This was a surprise to the graduate, who had barely talked to her Dad lately. She also noted that he showed minimal interest in her college journey, despite her requests for his support. Instead of being a proud father filming his daughter's accomplishment, he was acting like a self-centered reality TV star of his own making.
