Cat-lover kicks out roommate, Kyle, after he promises to look after his cat, Luna, while on a 4-day trip, but 'forgets' to feed her or change her litterbox, despite being given written instructions and extra cash for his help: 'That was the final straw':

When someone picks the person with whom they wish to share a home, it is evident that the actual home is never really the only thing that they're sharing. They will wish to share trust, respect, and responsibilities…However, oftentimes, they'll share disappointment and a lack of all of the above instead. This cat-lover would know! His cat, Luna, is his 'baby', and he loves her more than anything. He dreads any moment they have to spend apart, but sometimes life happens, and some commitments are foolishly cat-free. Like, who wouldn't want the most purrr-fect face in the back of all their wedding photos or a purrring that marvelously meshes with the harpist's melodies?? Like what? I guess some people are just different from us, and we're going to have to respect that.

This kitty-cat's owner had his sister's wedding and would be out of town for four days. He asked his roommate if he wouldn't mind taking care of her while he was away. He answered instantly with a Yeah, Bud, and the rest was history. And by history…we mean utter chaos. He returned home days later, to an uncleaned litter box, not a dent made in the food bag, and a cat that had been clearly insufficiently cared for! He was furious, confronting his roommate, who only responded with a casual, 'Ooopsss'. That was the last straw, and he knew deep down that he cared way more for his pet than his incapable roommate. So he chose…deciding to kick his roommate out as a result.

Not only did this roommate break an important promise, but he was also provided with a list of basic, clear instructions beforehand, given extra cash without request, and had even been gifted a thank-you pizza! Luna's dad went above and beyond to show appreciation for his roommate's promise, and he could barely keep half of it. His thought process makes sense to us: If someone can't even be responsible enough to look after my cat, are they responsible enough to share my apartment? The short answer: no!
