    16-year-old girl from blended family never invites stepsister to visit grandparents, causing further family divide: 'My grandma and aunts would take me and my girl cousins out for girly days. My stepsister started getting jealous'

    Blended families are never easy to navigate. Even non-blended families are difficult to navigate, so when you start adding strangers and their children to the mix, things can get complicated. The story below is one of that nature. The narrator is a 16-year-old girl whose mother remarried after being widowed when she was only 3-years-old. He was also a widower, and had several other children with his wife. The issue: their families never got along. 

    It's a nightmare if your in-laws don't like you, and even worse if it goes the other way around. In this story, both in-laws detest their respective son/daughter in law. This creates issues for the children, as the grandparents only spend time with their respective grandchildren. This creates tension when the protagonist's stepsister wants to join in the girly outing with grandma, but is uninvited.
