Awoken by slobbery kisses, stolen bedsheets, and a bad case of sardine-scented morning breath, dogs remind their hoomans of the joys of dog ownership every chance they get. Despite their downfalls, like corn-chip feet, kibbles spilled on the kitchen floor, and their tendency to lick their paws during your REM sleep, dogs provide far more satisfaction to their dog lovers than meets the eye. Although we may hem and haw about taking them out to potty, walking them for long walks at the park, or grooming their always-messy fur, dogs are the sparkle in our eye, the twinkle in our hearts, and the light in our lives.
Without fail, when we come home from a bad day of work, they're wagging their tails, excited to see us.
Without fail, dogs will come running at full speed to greet you with undying love.
And without fail, dogs will plop into your lap for cuddle time (no matter their size), begging for attention and pets that make everyone happier.
Alas, being a dog owner is complicated and sometimes tedious, but the payout of unconditional love from your furry best friend will always be worth it. Always.
