    'You're undermining the chain of command': 32-year-old employee leads major project, but when her 45-year-old boss presents it to executives as his own work, she exposes him in the meeting, clarifying his deception and sparking major workplace tension

    A leader is supposed to be someone who leads by example, someone who is equally respected as they are valued. A leader is supposed to be someone who pushes you to succeed, and is confident enough in their own abilities to let you revel in that success without it making them question their own… or worse, inspire them to take unearned credit for it.

    Unfortunately, in many work environments, we have leaders who prefer to refer to themselves as 'bosses', and who are more focused on how powerfully they are perceived by others than actually assisting those around them in multiplying everyone's combined triumph. Take this employee, for example: a woman who put sweat and tears into creating an incredible project for her company, including 'The client outreach, the data analysis, and the proposal drafts.' She did all of it.'

    But when it finally came time to show off the presentation that could have gotten her noticed by upper management, her entitled boss swooped in, demanding that he present it under the excuse of 'increased credibility.' Proceeding to take credit for all her work while being applauded with a standing ovation from the room, while she was left sitting there, utterly speechless.
