Freeloading 101: Don't bite the hand that pays your bills.
A freeloading little brother was the type of guy who always got what he wanted from the family. When he was desperate for a couch to crash on or if he needed a handout from his big sister, everyone was there to back him up, regardless of how insufferable he'd become. This sort of entitlement festered in his personality, with arrogance and a bad attitude leaking into every freebie he was given. Eventually, this rudeness caught up with him, and the little brother realized that he wasn't going to be riding the gravy train of everyone else's generosity much longer if he was going to act like a pompous, unmotivated, couch-loser.
Understandably, family helps family… To a point. Oftentimes, we see stories of family members taking advantage of their relatives, taking a yard when they've been given an inch, pushing everyone to the brink of their patience to see how far they can push. I'd never tolerate such behavior, which is why I've become quite proud of the brother-in-law in this next story, who apparently was the only one in the family with an ounce of resilience against this little brother's charms, or lack thereof.
