    Employee quits on the spot after boss denied him lunch for arriving eight minutes late to work: 'No regrets so far'

    After six months of showing up early, never calling out, and handling everything the job threw at them, one employee finally had enough. It all came to a head on a hectic morning when they arrived eight minutes late. An honest mistake, really, and a first in their tenure.

    Their boss pulled them aside immediately and launched into a lecture about professionalism. The consequence was no lunch break. Unprepared but willing to comply, the employee asked if they could at least run to the deli next door. The boss agreed, so long as it was counted as unpaid time.

    The employee stepped out, intending a quick detour, and never came back. Nearly two hours later, after repeated calls from management, they picked up the phone and calmly said, "I'm not coming back. I quit."
