Montreal cyclist collided with delivery driver's car after the driver made an illegal U-turn across a bike lane, denting the driver's car door, cyclist is threatened with a lawsuit for the damage despite not being at fault: 'Declined giving me insurance'

There's always going to be that driver who treats his horn like his best friend, sees traffic lights as a suggestion, and thinks the best time to do an illegal U-turn is in the middle of oncoming traffic. You may know him, you may be him…But wait, we almost forgot the most important thing about him…He loves to blame everyone else when things go wrong…because maybe (just maybe) U-turning in the bike lane isn't the best idea. This cyclist definitely didn't think so.

After this entitled delivery driver decided to do exactly that, he collided with a cyclist. The cyclist and his bicycle were left unharmed, minus a small dent on his helmet…However, and call it karma if you please, the delivery driver's car door had a massive dent in it from the collision. The most important part of any accident is making sure that everyone involved is okay. The second most important part? Having insurance. Something that the driver refuses to disclose for whatever reason. Instead, after the cyclist finally gave up on begging to exchange insurance, the driver followed him for miles, threatening to sue him if he didn't pay the repair costs…Despite it being his own fault!

Dealing with a slight car accident is already frustrating as it is, so when it unfortunately happens, you hope that those on the receiving end can be understanding of the mistake. What you do not expect is having the person who caused the accident threatening you for something you had no part in! This cyclist should try involving some authorities or get a statement from a bystander, because this driver has no leg to stand on!
