Rich mother-in-law wills that if her unsightly Texas greenhouse is removed, her family will forfeit house ownership: 'Can she actually do that?'

This wealthy mother-in-law is all set to leave her home to her kids, but she has one stipulation that she's incredibly serious about: don't lay a finger on her prized greenhouse!

Having a family home can be a true blessing. It's a place where everyone can gather for big family meals, where you and your family members will celebrate birthdays and holidays and everything in between. You know that if you're ever in need of a listening ear, you can stop by your grandparent's home for a cup of tea. For many families, keeping at least one big home in the family for as long as possible makes it a prized heirloom.

For this family, though, the mother-in-law who currently owns a big home is making it a little difficult to anticipate home ownership after her passing. She's very serious that although she's passing down her house, no one is allowed to touch her greenhouse!

I know a lot of people feel strongly about certain parts of their home, and would be heartbroken if it were touched. And gardens especially can be sentimental — they're full of living things that may take years or even decades to fully bloom. But there's a big difference between Mom saying, "No one had better lay a finger on my sunflower garden!" and her literally writing into her will that anyone who dares touch her greenhouse forfeits their rights to home ownership!

As one person in the comments noted, this almost sounds like the beginning of a mystery novel. What's the MIL hiding in or under the greenhouse? Gold doubloons? Gems? Riches beyond measure? Other things? No one will ever know, probably, now that she's so strongly insisted that her unsightly greenhouse remain a blight on the property for ever and ever.
