    Through the course of a marriage, divorce, and aftermath, it can be too easy to develop resentment and negative feelings towards your ex. You may feel the urge to blame them for everything going wrong, and who wouldn't? In the story below, the protagonist is a divorced woman who has a daughter with her ex-husband. He only has her every other weekend, and he's now newly engaged to his girlfriend. The girlfriend starts calling the ex-wife constantly, apparently under the guise of trying to build a relationship with the daughter. At first, the ex-wife doesn't pick up, because she has no idea who's calling her. Then, over time she realizes it's her ex's fiancée, and finds out she wants to babysit and spend time with her daughter. 


    She refuses to let a stranger take her daughter out. This comes to a head when the fiancée breaks off the engagement with her boyfriend. The ex-husband comes after his ex, blaming her and her strictness regarding their daughter as the reason she left him.
