Let's be honest - nobody did interior design quite like the 1960s. Everything from the wallpaper to the furniture to the lighting had personality. It was bold, playful, and a little bit unhinged - in the best possible way.
I love how the 60s didn't care about minimalism or "a clean aesthetic." It was all about color, texture, and experimentation. Living rooms looked like they were built for cocktail parties, not Zoom calls. Sofas came in avocado green, kitchens were orange, and every single lamp looked like it might double as a spaceship.
There was a sense of optimism built into every pattern and shape - a belief that design could be fun and the future was something to look forward to. And honestly? I'd love to see that come back. Give me back the shag rugs, the teak furniture, and the feeling that every object in the room was there to make life a little more exciting.
