    Kind person wanted to take stray cat in for a quick TNR, but it was too late, so they brought the kitty home, and before they knew it, she gave birth to 5 colorful kittens

    The life of a stray cat can truly be challenging. The life of a stray female cat… somehow even worse. There is no way to avoid it as a stray female kitty. You are irresistible not only to us, cat people, who want to pet you all the time because you are cute, but also to other cats. And that means that itty bitty fluffy consequences are bound to happen. Of course, living life as a stray momma cat is one of the biggest challenges that there is, so… sometimes, you have to do something about it.

    This is not the first time that we have heard of a pregnant cat needing help, and it is probably not going to be the last. Helping a momma cat, especially when she goes out of her way and braves her fears to ask a human for help, is the best and kindest things that you can do for her. It's life-changing. And one thing that we can promise you - if you do it, she will be the most grateful creature in the world.

      I've been feeding her for a couple months. Noticed her looking a little fat last week and we didn't want kittens all over the street. Now they are all over my study.

    • We don't know exactly what it is about this story, but it just- makes us so happy. Maybe it's the fact that we're talking about a person who has been feeding this cat for a long time, someone who has gained her trust, someone who has gone out of their way to help her when they saw that she needed help. We love that. Really restores a little of our faith in humanity.

      Boomersgang As a fellow cat rescuer, thank you for doing this. Please keep her inside until you can get her spayed. She can come back into heat just 4 days after giving birth. You should (pending where you live) be able to find a low cost clinic to help provide vet care for this lovely family. There should also be rescue groups that may be able to help as well.

      hawonkaf ckit OP That's already the plan. Unfortunately the shelters are quite full atm (it's kitten season here in Australia), so they may be here for a while. But definitely will get her fixed.

      hawonkaf ckit OP The dad (I think) is an Orange cat. But yeah. There's also a grey and brown between the black kitten and the tortoiseshell looking kitten. You can hardly see it in there!

      3 days old and going strong. I finally got a pic with all 5 kittens, so I thought I'd share it. Mum cat is eating well. Thanks to everyone for the advice and lovely comments (and also making it my biggest post ever)
