'She's been trapping my cat in her bedroom every night': Woman becomes obsessed with roommate's cat, starts calling herself "parent" to the cat, cat owner seeks advice from internet

Roommates can really make or break your home life. I've had my fair share of roommate experiences. When you live with your best friends, life at home can be a paradise. Coming home to hang out together, have a built in support system, cook together, watch movies, and you never even have to make actual social plans. Or you can live with people you have who make you so uncomfortable. Coming home and feeling like you have to run to your room is a horrible feeling. In the story here, the protagonist has a roommate that causes tension due to her cat.

This cat owner has had her kitty for 11 years and raised her from a kitten. In one or two months of living with her older roommate, the woman is calling herself a "cat parent" and even locking her cat in her room every night. The owner goes to the internet for advice, and she gets some tough love.

I've had my fair share of bad roommates, but I never had one try to lock my cat in her room. I did have a bad roommate who always said my cat was the “best” roommate in the home, while simultaneously refusing to feed him or give him water if I went on vacation.
