16-year-old twin refuses to spend time with sister after she takes brother's ex's side about their breakup, parents get involved: 'She's still mad at me for not chasing after a girl who broke up with me'
Breakups are never easy for anyone. It doesn't matter what the situation is, or sometimes if you even like the person. A breakup tears our hearts in two, it challenges our sense of stability, sense of self, and daily lifestyle. Humans are habitual creatures, and even if you know the person isn't your soulmate, there's something about a breakup that tricks our brain into going into survival mode, craving the person and the connection solely because you're used to them.
What adds insult to injury is when you don't feel support through the breakup. If your friends and family are not by your side, it becomes an extra burden to deal with. The protagonist in the story is a teenager whose girlfriend broke up with him out of nowhere, and he gracefully accepted the blow. His twin sister, however, thought that he should have fought for the relationship, and continues to hold a grudge. How awful would it feel to have your own twin take your ex's side?
