They say that looking at your phone right before bed disturbs your sleep, but what if they're wrong? Insomniacs everywhere have been up late for centuries, filling their time with other idle hobbies like candle-making, woodwork, and churning butter. So, despite living in the digital era, where we have an infinite number of distractions pouring onto our handheld devices at every given moment, sleepless folks will always find something to do in the wee hours of the night.
Memes or not, you might as well enjoy a laugh or two before falling blissfully to sleep.
While we all dream of a full 8-hour dose of R.E.M. chillage, oftentimes, that's not in the cards for any of us. Luckily for the meme connoisseurs, the doomscrollers, and the over-informed worriers, our phones give us the perfect opportunity to hyper-fixate and obsess, firing up our brain receptors just in time for some lucid dreaming. Alas, it may not be a cure-all for insomniacs to get a bit of shut-eye, but having a phone is a pretty cool adaptation before bed.
