You learn how to make $100 last a few weeks, what it means to have community, and when to give to others in need. We all need a bit of help sometimes. When someone expects you to support them entirely despite your own duties and obligations to yourself, however, it's necessary to put your foot down. If you don't, you might risk falling behind on your priorities, then you're useless to them and yourself.
The pregnant daughter in the next story explains that she and her partner moved in with her family so they could receive help with their new baby in about a month. Since they've moved in, the daughter has been paying all the bills and other household expenses, despite being barely able to do so, and has since accumulated a significant amount of debt that she had previously paid off.
Now, she's decided to move out with financial assistance from her job, and her father is not taking that decision lightly. Should she risk her financial security to preserve her father's feelings? Will it always be this way if she doesn't take action to stop it?
