Naive woman expects "free" wedding from friend group after seeing inspiration on TikTok, gets a stark awakening when they refuse to contribute: 'I really hurt her feelings'

TikTok and Instagram trends could be the end of us. How many times have we tried a recipe, a "no bake" brownie that's just chocolate syrup in a microwavable cup, or some sort of "law of attraction" to get the guy we will never date to ask us out? If the next trend was to wear only glasses and a bandana shirt, I'm sure everyone would jump on board (but seriously, let's get bandana shirts back in). The point is that these trends may work for some, but that one person doing it makes it look attractive for the rest of the world, and that raises issues. Like in the story below, the protagonist's friend is having a wedding and wants to make it "free." This means that everything is basically donated like a charity from friends. A friend bakes the cake, provides the space, takes the photos, etc.

It's honestly a really cute idea, in my opinion. But I can understand if you're a guest and feel already overwhelmed with aspects of life, it can be tedious to be invited to a wedding and expect to work there.
