I've got a 6-year-old border collie named Milo and a 3-year-old tuxedo cat named Nori. They get along really well, maybe too well, because Milo has started developing this hilarious habit.

Whenever Nori starts knocking things off the counter (which is daily, because she lives for chaos), Milo will come find me, sit in front of me, and just stare. He doesn't bark or whine, but it's the kind of intense "You need to come see this" stare that border collies are famous for.

sassychubzilla He's a good boy and I bet he wouldn't tell if there were treats being thrown on the floor for him by your cat

Aesthetic_donkey_573 We had a dog cat duo that did this at one point. Dogs treats were in Tupperware on top of the fridge. Cat climbed up on the fridge, knocked the treats down, dog chewed through the Tupperware and they feasted together.

One Advantage793 We had to put our small dog's treats in a cabinet that latches because my cat used to give the dog treats - and that dog is a little chonk who needs to diet. They are besties, but I don't think it was an actual bribe - just another gravity experiment by said cat. He did take the treat (Bonez) out of the box and then bap it over the edge of the cabinet, then watch with great interest while his dog friend ate the treat, then do it again.

PomeloPepper My GSD mix will break up anything he thinks is a fight between the cats by getting between them and barking at them. They both adore him.

jobob1288 That's hilarious. I adopted my female terrier mix 3 years ago and she became quick friends with one of my male cats. He's very ornery though and she's started getting onto him when she knows he's doing something he shouldn't. She prances and has a very particular "woof" for this instance haha.

ConsistentRecipe303 yeah that sounds exactly like what milo does, just with less noise. dogs really out here acting like supervisors while the cats run the whole operation. honestly it's hilarious but also kinda useless.

Messy Bex Mine tag team. Leave something edible out of the dogs reach? Cat will oblige in knocking it down.....

kittykat0508 I have a shepherd mix that I nicknamed "the hall monitor" because she is constantly tattling on the cat.

Specific Junket8083 Haha. That's so cute. I had a border collie that always broke up "fights" between my cats. They were really just playing, but she always had to put a stop to it. We called her the narc.

FuturamaRama7 I have one cat who plays by the rules and tattles on the naughty cat. In my house, narcs get treats and cuddles. So there's a reward for it.

HrhEverything Else My dog absolutely keeps the cats in line. She fusses if they scratch the furniture, jump on the counter, or even are too loud when we're asleep- unfortunately her fussing to keep them in line is usually louder than whatever they were doing at the time, but she tries

Spaceseeker51 1. Dog understands that snitches get stitches, ergo the stare versus borking when trouble's afoot. 2. Apprehension of the perp is not in their job responsibilities. lol
