Entitled neighbor sabotages resident's construction, resident gets even by building a large ugly fence: 'Enjoy the 80 foot double spite wall!'

Messing with your neighbor's renovations is a recipe for disaster. 

Sure, it can be wildly frustrating to go about your day and have to hear a ton of construction for weeks, if not months, on end. That being said, you never know when you might find yourself needing to do some renovations of your own. With that in mind, you might as well extend some grace to your neighbor, provided that they respect property lines and neighborhood quiet hours. This resident was more than respectful, and yet, he still had to deal with the wrath of an ungrateful neighbor.

The funny thing about this disgruntled dude is that he underestimated his opponent. Some neighbors assume that they can get away with demanding, entitled behavior simply because they have been living in the neighborhood for longer than everyone else. Sure, we should all treat the elderly members of our communities with a greater degree of respect, but that does not mean that they should be able to get away with just about anything.

This neighbor went out of his way to try to sabotage construction, but what he didn't think about was the fact that the entrance to his home was narrow and reliant on how this author ultimately chose to construct his residence. So, the author decided to obstruct the open view of the entrance to the neighbor's home by building a fence… and not just any fence! This 80-foot fence not only helped the resident grow a nice private garden in the back of his home, but it also completely went against what his neighbor wanted for the front view of his home. 

This is what happens when you test untested individuals. Just because you're an aggressive person does not mean that the individual with whom you are beefing is unable to fight back. This neighbor had to learn that the hard way, and he would come to regret ever attempting to upend the resident's renovation process. However, what's done was done, and now, the neighbor had to endure a narrow entrance to his home on top of a large fenced wall that was as unpleasing to the eye as any of the construction noise was to the ear.
