‘She tried calling me but I kept walking’: 17-year-old son refuses to miss work and babysit his 3 younger siblings after his father insists his job isn't important, causing his stepmother to miss an appointment

Parents are always hooting and hollering about how kids these days don't want to work, refuse to take initiative, and lack any qualifications for jobs because of a blank resume. Well, it seems like even when a kid wants to work, they get met with disrespect by the same parents who nagged them to snag a part-time job in the first place.

The teen in this next story explains that his stepmother had an appointment on that Saturday, and his father was unavailable to watch the teen's three younger siblings. The teen also has work, but his father claims that his job is not nearly as important as the adults' prior commitments, and implores him to stay home with the kids. Yeah, not happening.

Instead of being understanding, his stepmother and father continue to pressure him, but when the day comes, he leaves without a trace to his shift. Maybe next time the adults will understand that respect doesn't have an age minimum, and sometimes, there are more important things happening than what they have going on.
