Zoomer reinvents meditation as 'rawdogging' to fix attention span: 'Reject tradition, embrace tradition with better marketing'

It is easy to characterize the younger generations as brainrot-addled screen addicts forever looking for their next dopamine fix, but that isn't always true. They may be in the minority, but there are some people in the Gen Z cohort who at least want to look like they are committed to something more than that precious lying in bed with phone time.

The area of self-improvement has long been an attractive topic on social media, somewhat ironically, seeing as most people come across this kind of content while mindlessly scrolling and not doing all that much to better themselves or their lives. Still, millions seem to agree that it makes for compelling viewing and, on occasion, is something that is worthy of discussion. If we are being honest with ourselves, most of us could do with adding some good habits into our day-to-day life that encourage our shrivelled attention spans to increase.

This is exactly what one man claimed he was doing as he practiced one hour a day of “rawdogging”, i.e., sitting quietly with his eyes closed and not allowing himself to be distracted by anything. Other people were tickled at this slick rebranding of meditation and mindfulness, especially as it came from a younger person looking to inspire his peers. Every so often, good things come in unexpected packages.
