Trust, once broken, is one of the most difficult things to repair. Once it's broken, it's nearly impossible to fix 100%. You will always have that slight doubt in your mind. Betrayal is a door that once it's open, it can't be closed. It's filled with suspicious rooms and darkness you're not even sure you want to enter. Lying about one thing means the person could very well be lying about basically everything, and there's no knowing how much validity is in their words anymore. For couples who do make it on the other side after a strong betrayal, they have to demolish and rebuild everything about their relationship.

What is being controlling in a relationship? I think it can look like anything, but what matters the most is that the two people are on the same page, which isn't the case in this story. The wife works out of town often, and the husband expects a simple text that she landed, or when she's coming home. She calls him controlling. My take: if it looks like a duck it's a duck.
