    When you make that huge mistake, you just have to hope that no one saw it. Maybe you dropped a milkshake everywhere, and you're realizing that tons of customers and coworkers are staring at you. How mortifying! The only thing that could make that situation worse is if you happened to drop it on a small child… who was celebrating her birthday… leaving her totally soaked in milkshake. Yep, that happened to one person here, as people shared their stories of their most mortifying workplace mistakes ever. 

    It's honestly surprising that waiters and waitresses don't drop food more often. They can carry a dozen plates at once, or an entire tray of drinks, without ever dropping it (well, most of the time, anyway). Kudos to them for their impressive ability to hold a platter just so, avoiding dropping people's lunches all over the ground. 

    I mean, don't cry over spilled milk(shakes), food can be remade. But some of these workers had jobs in other sectors, where they were working with equipment that cost hundreds, thousands, or even millions of dollars per mistake! The stakes are much higher in a job like that — just ask the dude who got a rush job to make some semiconductor pieces, and ended up melting them instead, costing over a million dollars. If you could survive that mistake without getting fired, you deserve a gold medal!
