Another week, another painting. Do you think Rembrandt would have been able to paint a portrait of what it's like to exist on a Tuesday in the office? Probably not, because he was a painter—they don't do offices.
Classical art lives in our minds rent-free, whether we know it or not. Between Botticelli and David, all the way through to Gérôme, the feelings painters depict are everywhere. Why? A human painted them–they know what feelings are, believe it or not. They even feel them too. Go figure!
Not everyone can be well-equipped for an art history lecture on the importance of impasto, so it's best to take this conversation elsewhere… A place more reachable… A universe where humor exists in tandem with the complex feelings art always evokes. You guessed it: Memes! If you didn't guess that, you should probably take another look at the title before clicking on something next time. Even if you're not that into art, you have to admit that it's interesting to see pieces from centuries ago still being applicable to a feeling many humans have today. That's just human nature, baby! If you're intrigued, keep scrolling. Find your inner artist among the paint.
