Man expects fiancée to contribute money for half of her new engagement ring, after losing original ring while playing with their dog in the park, before going to get it resized: 'Her friends keep asking when she’s getting another ring'

Is this man living on another planet, expecting his fiancée to contribute towards her new engagement ring, after waiting too long to get it resized and eventually losing it in the park? I think anyone would be distracted by playing catch with their perfect pup on a crisp winter's day, but I can almost guarantee that the feeling of looking at your hand, only to be met with the visual of an empty ring finger that is normally occupied, would make anyone's heart drop to their stomach!

So after hours of this couple searching for his fiancee's engagement ring turned unsuccessful, she is left feeling filled to the rim with guilt, and goes on to discuss the repurchasing of new ring, because she simply cannot walk around without some symbol of their love - the only part missing from the discussion is her contribution to the new ring, after all, she was the one who lost it, so it wouldn't really fair to put all the financial pressure on her man after he already invested in getting her a beautiful promise ring, now, would it?

Her friends continue to add fuel to the fire, with questions about how and when he will be getting her a new ring…some could even argue they're going to share finances soon anyway…but that's not the point. Sure, maybe he should have ensured he had the right ring size before engaging. Still, it was her responsibility to go get the ring resized, and after one year of avoiding doing so, something was bound to go wrong…and so it did, just in the form of the combination of endless yards of grass and below-average eyesight.
