Joyless dude calls people who buy coffee more than twice a week "adult-sized babies with debit cards" who should be placed under conservatorships: 'A bottle of caffeine pills is like $8'

All things in life must be done with balance. Your health would suffer if you ate ice cream for every meal, but your life would be sadder if you eliminated it from your diet if you genuinely love eating it. There are obviously seasons of your life where you need to be a little extreme. If you're $100K in debt, you probably shouldn't be eating out at restaurants or spending money on expensive sports games or theatre tickets. But if you decide to live without those things forever, no matter how financially stable you are, because that could always be money saved, that's a little sad. You never know how much time you have on this earth, so it's essential to take some time to enjoy it.

The question of "How much should I enjoy things?" is one we all have to answer. I certainly don't think it's responsible to buy coffee and a $7 pastry for breakfast every day when you could make those things at home for so much cheaper, but I also don't think it's a crime to buy those things every once in a while, or even with some regularity. The dude in this story strongly disagrees with that sentiment.
