Entitled couple takes over neighbor's garden and kitchen without permission while their home is being renovated: 'They just waltzed right in like they owned the place!'

Sure, helping one's neighbor out every once in a while is to be expected, but that should never mean uprooting one's entire livelihood for them. The problem with entitled neighbors goes beyond their incessant demands. Those demands sting that much more with the implicit knowledge that these kinds of requests would never be reciprocated should the roles ever reverse. 

In this instance, two new residents (a married couple) moved into a suburban neighborhood that was a bit of a mess after the former owners left. That meant that the home inevitably needed to be renovated, and that said renovations would take a while. Clearly, this couple was not prepared for how long the renovations would take, even though all of that was transparently communicated prior to their move. Still, they occasionally needed some help from the next-door neighbors when it came to things like cooking, using the bathroom, etc. 

The authors of this story just so happened to be the neighbors who, unfortunately, resided directly next door. That meant that they needed to bear much of the burden when it came to helping out their neighbors. However, what began as polite generosity quickly turned into unfair and unjust entitlement.

Remember the old saying about what happens when you give a mouse a cookie? These residents took their neighbor's initial offer to help them out and ended up demanding that they use their garden, backyard, kitchen, and property whenever they wanted.
