Wife refuses to co-sign husband's “dream truck” loan, claiming he still owes her $8000 from her inheritance, husband refuses to pay her back: ‘You're not supporting my dreams’

A key element to a good relationship is learning how to say 'no'. You can say that couples are supposed to support each other and be there for each other no matter what, but without boundaries, the entire relationship is at risk of spiraling out of control.

Nobody can be a "Yes Man" all of the time; no one can agree to every request that comes their way, even if it comes from their partner (especially so, actually). Take the couple in the story below as an example. Wife gets a modest inheritance from her grandma, and she agrees to use some of it to pay her husband's credit card debt. That is one yes. After that, she also agreed that he would pay her back over time, but with no pressure. That is yes number 2.

A year later, wife still hasn't gotten a penny back from her husband, and now he has another request–for her to co-sign on a loan for a new truck. Now, that is one yes too many.

The wife refuses her husband's request, telling him she will not co-sign anything until he at the very least pays her back for his previous loan.
