There are many incredible life lessons in LOTR, and as it turns out, Tolkien was something of a genius when it came to wisdom. Adventure always lies ahead of us, Fellowship keeps us moving when times are tough, and you can never trust a Sackville-Baggins.
Apart from the obvious lore, reminding us of our cherished friends, the fabled lands of Elves, and the dirtbag bad guys with evil hoards of orcs at their side, the story of The Lord of the Rings is what strikes a chord in everyone's hearts. There's a reason we're fans of the most beloved saga of all time, and it's not just because there are some cool sword-fighting scenes, everyone has a cool haircut, and they ride horses in New Zealand, but because we all resonate with the inherent humanity within LOTR.
Sam is brave, Frodo is resilient, Gimli is loyal, Aragorn is almighty, Gandalf is irreverent, and Legolas can see really far with his Elf eyes. So while we may never have an epic journey walking barefoot across MIddle Earth, we can always plop down on the couch and have an LOTR marathon—because that's basically the same thing.
