Corporate strategy consultant refuses neighbor's demand for free professional help, neighbor then accuses her of emotional neglect and spreads rumors around neighborhood: 'I do this for paying clients, not neighbors who are entitled and guilt-trip me'

She's the perfect neighbor…minus the fact that she's a master manipulator who demands free professional services from her neighbors. That small detail may just be her downfall. Oh, and if they refuse, she attempts to drag their name through the mud by spreading rumors about them around the neighborhood. But she always waves hello at least! Whoops, almost forgot about that one time she told her neighbor that she has to give her free business advice because she sometimes waves to her kids when they pass by…What in the world, maybe she isn't the perfect neighbor after all…

Instead of professional business advice, perhaps a reference to a therapist might be of more importance for this woman! She is constantly harassing her neighbor to help her with her children's resumes, how to get more child support from her ex-husband, etc. Yet, her neighbor's response is always the same. Please see my fees, and then I can help! Sweet, and in our opinion, pretty fair. The moment you start doing people favors for free, how are you supposed to make a living? Because if it was acceptable to expect things for free from your next-door neighbors, then we'd better find out what ours do…

How does one go about resolving tension with a horrible neighbor? Just avoid eye contact at all times when leaving your house, or by dropping off a peace offering in the form of a beef lasagna? We're starting to worry that neither option will do the trick here…
