It's perfectly fine to go to a party and think to yourself, "I would have done this differently." There's no thought police. However, if it's not your party, there's really no reason to voice your opinion to the host. If you have gripes with the playlist, keep it to yourself. If you're not a fan of chocolate cake, no one really cares. If you think the cusom-made wedding cake toppers made to look like tiny versions of the bride and groom are "too silly," I can tell you exactly where to put that opinion. However, the aunt in today's tale didn't just shade the wedding cake toppers in question; she literally stole them. Not because she thought they were so cute that she couldn't keep her sticky fingers off of them, but because she thought she was doing everyone a favor by not allowing them to appear in the wedding photos.

Some people seriously seem to forget that weddings are meant to celebrate a unique couple. Beyond signing the paper and ticking a few important boxes if you are religious, every other "tradition" is just fluff; it can be done away with completely or customized. I struggled with this with my own mother while planning my wedding. She was totally convinced that the garter toss was a really important tradition and that skipping it would somehow disappoint everyone or curse my marriage. After showing her tons of alternatives on TikTok, we ended up compromising on simply handing out flowers to the only 3 single people at my microwedding. Sure, it's not traditional, but not eveything has to be. Some things can be just as fun, unique, and quirky as the couple getting married.
