    Woman's boyfriend "Mark" types up a "girlfriend performance review," listing things she needs to improve, she shows him exactly what she thinks of his "constructive criticism" by breaking up with him: 'I'm your girlfriend, not your employee'

    Everyone knows that you shouldn't mix your work life and your love life. However, most of the time, when people bring this topic up, they're trying to convince someone not to date their coworker or to stop flirting with their boss. "Don't muddy your own well," as they say. But what about the other way around; can you bring aspects of your job into your love life? Well, one guy certainly attempted it by taking what he learned from his favorite self-improvement YouTubers and applying it to his own relationship.

    Over dinner one night, he pulled out a literal folder where he had typed up and printed a "girlfriend performance review," a collection of notes detailing where she was "underperforming" in the relationship. He nitpicked her gym routine and critiqued her sock-folding skills, reducing their relationship to a literal checklist. When she pushed back and demanded his own review, he claimed he didn't need one as he's been "doing a lot."

    This honestly sounds like something my own fiance and I would do for each other as a joke, and we'd make sure to give each other glowing reviews. Even in the workplace, a performance review isn't just a critique of your failings, you're supposed to leave the meeting with an idea of your strengths as well. It's really telling how he just dropped these criticisms on her randomly with no warning or opportunity to speak her mind as well, and that he immediately assumed the role of the "manager." If he wants to play these weird office games, she should put in her 2 weeks notice pronto.
