Public transportation is the perfect place to zone out with some music, a good book, or your favorite crossword puzzle. If you choose to do any distracting tasks on your subway ride, however, you can't get mad if your 20-minute vacation to Lalaland has caused you to miss your stop.
An entitled subway passenger blames a fellow passenger for missing her subway stop, but the innocent passenger refuses to accept it. Given the amount of time between the ding of the "doors closing" notification and her late reaction, she would not have been able to make it out of the train cart. So, instead of accepting defeat, she insists that the innocent passenger "obstructed" her exit, and makes it everyone's problem until the next stop on the train.
Born and raised in New York City, I know how annoying it can be to ride with impolite passengers on the subway. Nobody moves out of the way when you're trying to exit, and everyone insists that they deserve the door space so they can get easy access out of the cart. Train etiquette is real, but so is being too distracted. If you miss your stop because you didn't pay attention, laugh it off and figure it out—don't make it another passenger's problem.
