    ‘It was difficult not to pull a smug face’: Overworked employee gets heat from coworkers for leaving early, agrees to normal hours which now makes his coworkers even more overworked

    An employee leaves work about an hour earlier than his coworkers simply because he has the longest commute and does not want to hit traffic on his way home. However, his coworkers did not like this "special treatment." They called a meeting and decided he had to work regular hours just like everyone else. What they didn't realize, however, was that he did quadruple the amount of work than everyone else. So really, he earned leaving early. But they would not budge on the matter. That was fine to him thought, because he simply stopped doing the extra work. Once he did this, all of his employees had loads of extra work to do, with hardly any breaks available. He refused to provide the extra help anymore, now that he has to endure the traffic, plus, they all voted for this. However, another thing that his coworkers didn't know was that the offices were planning to move. They were now going to be walking distance from this coworker's home. So now he not only isn't overworked anymore, his commute is the easiest in the office! All this good luck just because his coworkers didn't appreciate him.
