I love the Balkans. I can't explain it, there's just something magical about the culture of the countries. Eastern Europe feels more special than Western Europe. Western Europe is aesthetic, beautiful, powerful, and…Western. It has everything, and that means it also has tons of tourists. Eastern Europe inherently has less, and it's a little more untouched. From Romania and Albania, to Serbia and Montenegro, the Balkans offers a rich and diverse cultural atmosphere. From worshiping babushka, to your Balkan dad walking around with his hands behind his back at all times and scrutinizing something you did, there's endless enjoyment in the simplicity of it all.
Ćevapi, burek, and ajvar make up the perfect breakfast. Don't forget to have it with a side of raw onion and black coffee. And pickles are a must. And when you open the fridge at a Balkan household, if you see a Cola bottle in the fridge but it doesn't look like soda inside, don't drink it.
