We all have our bad moments sometimes, so if Gollum crashes on it and starts attacking Frodo for a moment with his beloved Ring, we should try to be understanding. Not everyone has the self-control or the innate heroism of an untainted Hobbit to withstand the power of the One Ring, so perhaps a little grace and understanding goes a long way.
