All kinds of social media have the potential to become addictive, but these days, few are quite as successful at it as TikTok is. There is something so hypnotizing about the For You Page, forever tweaking itself to your specific interests and viewing preferences, providing an endless ream of short form video. It becomes something that is hard to take our eyes off.
At the same time, the way in which the TikTok algorithm works can sometimes prove to be limiting. With it all being tailored to our specific preferences, we can occasionally miss out on things that we would still find amusing or interesting.
