Has everyone forgotten what neighborly etiquette means these days? Just because you see an unclaimed package sitting in the mail room does not mean it's yours! One would think this shouldn't be up for debate, especially among fully grown adults. Apparently, there are enough entitled tenants out there who need to be reminded of these basic rules.
In this instance, a young tenant discovered that his foolish neighbor, Brad, stole his headphones, so he decided to get even by logging into his Wi-Fi account and changing the password to kick Brad off of his own internet access for good. An eye for an eye, Brad!
Recently, I found myself having to get similarly petty with a neighbor in the laundry room. Generally, when it comes to shared laundry room etiquette, one should wait at least five minutes (if not ten) after a cycle is done before removing a stranger's clothes from a machine. In my laundry room, there are upwards of ten dryers, four of which are speedier ones. When I came to retrieve my clothes from two of those speedy dryers, I found them strewn about on a table. Mind you, I came to retrieve my clothes no more than two minutes after the cycle was complete. Plus, there were tons of empty dryers for this mysterious neighbor of mine to use, just not the speedy ones. So I decided that the only way to get some karmic justice around here was to stop this person's cycle, so I did. Enjoy your wet clothes!
