    Back when we first adopted our cat, we didn't know all the lingo. We didn't know the slang. We didn't know what the heck a cat distribution system is. But we still felt it. It still felt like the adoption was something greater, like it was written in the stars somewhere that it was meant to be, that our cat was the cat for us, and no other would do, at least not for that moment. It felt like our cat adopted us and not the other way around… because that is what it was.

Cats adopt humans, not the other way around. It really is written in the stars somewhere, you're not just imagining the feeling.
