It is no secret that as much as we spend more time glued to our favorite platforms than ever, social media is not a place that we go to expecting total authenticity all of the time. Reddit, however, comes closer than most platforms to capturing something that is easy to believe as the real deal. Mixing semi-anonymity with a strong culture of advice-seeking means users are often more open, sharing personal details without quite as much performance as you see elsewhere (unless they are looking to sh*tpost, that is).
That doesn't mean that Reddit has to be staid and boring, though. The site's front page is packed with entertaining content—it's just a matter of knowing where to look, which isn't always easy. Luckily, collections like this make it easy to enjoy the funniest moments and remind us why Reddit can be such an amusing corner of the internet.
