Who are you, people who send emails without rereading everything you wrote and double-checking all the details are in order before hitting send?
My stressed brain rarely allows me to make a mistake in the emails I send for work, and stories like the one below are exactly why. When this employee received the standard 'we want to hear from you' email from the upper management, their intention was to send a witty reply to their coworker, complaining about the company. That was mistake #1–never send something personal using your work email, even if it is vaguely related to work.
Mistake number #2 was when they clicked 'Reply All' and didn't double-check before sending their vent about management to the entire company.
After realising this grave mistake, and while this employee planned their last day on the job, other employees felt inspired by their coworker's "bravery" and decided to voice their complaints about the company in the same email exchange that started it all.
This might not be enough to help this employee keep their job, but you can still feel inspired by this story…
