Tenant gets even with entitled roommate "Sophie" after she eats half of the tenant's rotisserie chicken without permission: 'Chicken thief!'

Roommates who move in together need to establish boundaries from the get-go. Otherwise, you may come home one day to find out that your roomie has eaten half of your rotisserie chicken that you probably planned to ration for your dinner each night this week. Now, not only do you have half of that chicken, but you're also going to have to prepare something else for your meal plan. Furthermore, you probably are going to have to confront your roommate about how they crossed a line. 

I admit that I found some of the items these roommates never shared to be a bit over the top. For instance, I consider milk and eggs to be communal items that everyone should have access to, along with household items like toilet paper and paper towels. Still, if these ground rules have not been established from the start, then all the tenants in that apartment are bound to get on each other's nerves at some point. After all, everyone grew up slightly differently, and therefore, everyone has a different understanding of what's normal and expected from a roommate. If you don't want your roommate to put even a dash of your milk in their coffee, that's your right, but it needs to be communicated. On the other hand, if you want to borrow a grocery product from your roommate and it's not an agreed-upon communal item, you might as well ask before you go for it. Even if it's the smallest item, it's best to err on the side of caution. You'd rather have your roommate say, point blank, that you don't need to ask to borrow her milk to do it than have her get enraged when she finds out.
